My first stab at an all-natural deodorant was a crowd favorite: Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant. It worked pretty well in my experience, but more so for making my skin soft and moisturized rather than blocking odor. When it came to nixing B.O. and anti-perspiration, it tended to wear off around six hours in, at which point I’d quickly scurry into the bathroom and reapply.
When I ran out, I was eager to try something new, and I was desperately hoping for better results. My wallet couldn’t argue with a $4 non-aluminum alternative: Tom’s of Maine Long Lasting Deodorant. I had used Tom’s toothpaste before with success, so I had high hopes when I dropped this into my shopping cart.
