Unboxing Ipsy Review: July 2016

Ipsy is a $10 per month beauty subscription bag and, in my humble opinion, the best one out there. Every month, their glam bag impresses me with unique products and they consistently help me discover brands I might not have otherwise come across. They do their job and they do it well.

This month’s theme was “Hot Summer Nights,” which are coincidentally my favorite type of nights. Let’s jump right in to all the goodies I received!

Luxie Beauty, Luxie Rose Gold Small Angle Eye Brush 215

Every time Ipsy sends me a makeup brush, my heart skips a beat. Soft yet compact bristles, sturdy and long-lasting brushes, versatility? It must be too good to be true- but it’s not! This brush is great for precision, whether it be for winged liner or a bold brow.

tre’StiQue, Mini Highlight Stick in Maldives Luminescent

Help, I’ve fallen in love and I can’t get up! The highlighter craze was a bandwagon I was quick to jump on. I love the glowy brightness highlighters provide, especially on days when my complexion really needs a boost. This creamy gel formula glides on effortlessly and creates a blendable shimmer that’s perfect for an everyday look.

OFRA Cosmetics, Lip Liner in Silk

Made from beeswax (much like all good things in this world #savethebees), this lip liner lasts forever. No, seriously. When they say it’s waterproof and drink-proof, they’re not kidding. When I swatched it, the color stayed put even through several hand washes. The color Silk is described perfectly as a ballet slipper shade. It’s just light and natural enough that I can still navigate it despite being somewhat lip liner challenged.

Delectable by Cake Beauty, Delectable Lemon & Cream Ultra Nourishing Hand Cream

This sample is huge and going into my purse immediately. Packed with coconut oil and shea butter to soften, aloe vera to rejuvenate and a delicious lemon meringue pie scent to stir your hunger, this lotion is a must-have for dry skin. It doesn’t even leave a greasy layer; those natural ingredients sink right in.

theBalm Cosmetics, Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Moskowitz

This eye shadow is smooth, matte, blendable and ultra-pigmented, leaving absolutely no room for improvement. The warm tone and velvety texture are what really won me over. Major props to theBlam Cosmetics for creating such a winning formula! I’m seriously considering purchasing a palette from them now.

From top to bottom: lip liner, highlighter and eye shadow swatches.

This month was a success, as most months are with Ipsy. I’ll be surely putting these fun products to use during the remainder of the hot summer nights July has left to offer.
