Unboxing Birchbox Review: October 2016

Slow it down, ladies!

This month, Birchbox is begging you to take a deep breath, unwind and take a moment to smell the roses. September wheeled in all the hectic tasks of an ending vacation season and a new schoolyear; since then, when was the last time you took a break?

So, put on a face masque, comb that leave-in conditioner into your hair and chill.

Number 4, Super Comb Prep & Protect

As someone who abuses her hair with heat styling on a daily basis, protective hair products are very important to me. This one is a nice option, working doubly to protect hair from heat damage and condition thirsty strands.

Kiehl’s Since 1851, Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque

All hail the almighty Kiehl’s! I’ve never tried a product by Kiehl’s that I didn’t absolutely love and the pattern continues with this lovely product. This masque is perfectly gentle, leaving my skin fresh and clean without being too harsh for multiple uses per week.

Juice Beauty, Cleansing Milk

My combination sensitive skin is very finicky, so a reliable face wash that doesn’t irritate my cheeks is a godsend in my book. I prefer vitamin-heavy moisturizing formulas that don’t foam or smell strongly- just like this one! This is a great gentle cleanser for everyday use.

Montale, Intense Caf

Another freaking perfume sample! Somehow I feel like I recieve more than three perfume samples per year despite Birchbox promising not to exceed that number. The scent is classic and long-lasting, but I just can’t get excited about perfume samples.

LOC, Vibrant Matte Lipstick in Wildest Dreams

This shade is a bright, classic red for the ages. For ten bucks, it’s a perfect lipstick for date night or a girls’ night out. It applies smoothly and keeps lips moisturized, especially when you layer it over lip balm.

With a winning brand like Kiehl’s, I can’t really complain this month. Just less perfume samples in the future, please!
