A weekend getaway in four parts: Providence, Rhode Island, Coventry, Rhode Island, Marblehead, Massachusetts and Salem, Massachusetts. I had always wanted to visit Salem in October and a couple weeks ago, I finally had the opportunity to cross that item off my bucket list.
My trip to Chicago was originally for a work conference, but I stayed the weekend at an AirBnB to really check out all the windy city had to offer. I was not disappointed. The lovely Veronica flew out to meet me and we took on the city like true tourists: we went to the beach, biked miles through the city, visited the Art Institute, visited Millennium Park, sat in on an open mic in Wicker Park, went shopping, went to an outdoor Farmer’s Market, enjoyed the view from our AirBnB’s rooftop and ate so, so much great food and drank so much delicious coffee.
Earlier this month, Henry and I packed up our car and drove ten hours south to our vacation destination: Asheville, North Carolina. This trip was low maintenance and relaxed in every sense. Our AirBnB mountain home was right by a stream and every day, we went hiking up mountains, swimming in rivers and gawking at waterfalls. The people were chill and friendly. The weather was perfect. Most importantly, there were some really good eats; from great coffee shops with homemade bagels to vegetarian hotspots and a mix of southern comfort food, we definitely ate well.
